Jason Momoa
Joseph Jason Namakaeha Momoa, was born in Honolulu on August 1st, 1979. Coni Momoa (a photographer) and Joseph Momoa (a painter) are his parents. His father is Native Hawaiian and Samoan, and his mother is an Iowan and has German, Irish and Native American origin. Jason was raised by his mom in Norwalk (Iowa). He relocated to Hawaii following high school. He was able to land an important role in the show over thousands of other hopefuls. He then spent the following years travelling around the world following the end of the show. He relocated to Los Angeles in 2001 to pursue his acting career. Following the TV series North Shore (2004) ended the actor was cast in 2004 in the role of Ronon Dex, the main character of Stargate: Atlantis (2004). The show gained an ardent fan base. He played the Dothraki King Khal Drogo on Game of Thrones (2011) which was an Emmy-nominated HBO series. He danced the Haka dance, the traditional Maori war dance to prove producers that Khaldrugo was his character. The director of casting was in attendance during the audition.
