Jane Seymour OBE, born Joyce Penelope Wilhelmina Frankenberg (15 February 1951), is an English actress. Her screen debut came in 1969, as an uncredited character in the film Oh! Following her screen debut in the musical comedy Oh! Seymour was awarded her first Golden Globe in 1982 for Best Actress, Miniseries or Television Film. In the TV film The Woman He Loved (1988) in which she was Wallis Simpson, and for the miniseries War and Remembrance (1988-1989) she was awarded two more Golden Globe nominations. She also earned an Emmy nomination. Seymour was a character in Maria Callas in the television series The Richest Man in the World (1988) was already the recipient of an award in the form of a Primetime Emmy Award as Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie. Seymour was Dr. Michaela Quinn on the television show Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. The drama, which was located in the Wild West, ran six seasons and earned two Emmy nominations. The show also received four Golden Globe nominations. Seymour was given an honorary star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1993, and was named an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in the year 2000.
