Morgan Freeman

 The American actor is a well-known choice due to his powerful voice and calm manner of speaking. Morgan was born on June 1st, 1937 in Memphis, Tennessee to Mayme Edna (Revere) who was an educator, as well as Morgan Porterfield Freeman. Morgan is a barber. After having attended Los Angeles City College, the young Freeman worked for a number of years as a mechanic with the US Air Force between 1955 between 1955 and 1959. His first introduction to the drama was through the stage, and included in an all-African American productioncalled Hello, Dolly!. He also received Drama Desk and Clarence Derwent Awards as well as an Tony Award nomination in 1978 for his role in The Mighty Gents. He was awarded two Obie Awards in 1980 for his performance as Coriolanus The Anti-Hero of Shakespeare, in the New York Shakespeare Festival, as well as for his performance in Mother Courage and Her Children. Freeman received another Obie for his performance as The Messenger in the Brooklyn Academy of Music's production of Lee Breuer's The Gospel at Colonus in 1984. He also received the Drama-Logue Award in 1985 for the similar role. Freeman was the first actor to portray the character of Hoke in 1987.
