Natalie Wood
Natalie Wood, an actress who became famous in the age of 16, when she appeared with James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause (1955). The film was nominated in the year 1961 for an Academy Award for Splendor In The Grass. Wood was drowned in 1981 on a boat trip with Robert Wagner and Brainstorm (1983) with co-starring Christopher Walken. Her death remains controversial. She was the daughter of Russian immigrants. Natalie Wood was born Natalia Nikolaevna Zakharenko in San Francisco, California on July 20th 19th, 1938. She began dancing from a young age. Maria her mother began ballet lessons for her when she was a young child. Wood was just 4 years old when she got her first film part in Happy Land (1943), an unimportant part filming in Santa Rosa, California. When her mother arranged their first meeting, she had gained the attention of Irving Pichel. Wood later said that her mother had instructed her to get Mr. Pichel fall in love with her.
