Norm MacDonald
Norman Gene MacDonald was MacDonald's father. MacDonald was born in Quebec City, Quebec on October 17, 1959. MacDonald started his career in comedy by performing stand-up comedy. MacDonald began his stand-up career through creating material for The Dennis Miller Show (1992) as well as Roseanne (1988). Lorne Michaels spotted MacDonald when he was writing for Roseanne (1988). He then offered him his Saturday Night Live (1975) job. MacDonald's signature phrase, "And now, the fake news" was what was what made him a cult Weekend Update anchor. The show aired between September 24, 1994 until December 13, 1997. Don Ohlmeyer was then elected the president of NBC West Coast. The show was officially ended in the month of March, 1998. The last update for the weekend was on the 13th of December 1997. Dirty Work (1998) was the film he started working on in summer of 1997. It was released just two months after. The show he hosted on ABC show, Norm (1999), was released in March 1999, and ran for three seasons. He also appeared alongside Dave Chappelle in Screwed (2000).
